Pharmaceutical Packager Uni-Pac Goes Live in Michigan
Toronto, CA – June 7, 2012: Nulogy Corporation announced today that it's PackManager solution is now running the Allegan, Michigan facility of contract packager Uni-Pac.
Uni-Pac operates a 100,000 square foot facility with temperature-control capabilities that must meet strict FDA requirements for their pharmaceutical customers. Based one hour outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Uni-Pac’s close proximity to its customers allows it to be very responsive.
“With PackManager I can move quickly without anything slipping through the cracks,” said Scott Ellis, Uni-Pac’s General Manager. “We have to meet strict FDA standards but can still handle tight deadlines and short lead-times.” Uni-Pac often must track exact product lot codes, corrugate, case labels, and pallet tags for a particular project from receiving through to shipment of finished goods.
“Uni-Pac is a great example of a customer who really gets the full vision of PackManager,” explained Nulogy CEO, Jason Tham. “Not only are they maximizing their value by using the full product including Quoting, Shop Floor Control, and the WMS. But they are also using our iPad-based mobile interface on their forklifts, and have plans to adopt our innovative QCloud Quality Control offering, and complete integration with their customer’s SAP system.”
Before using PackManager, Uni-Pac used a generic manufacturing ERP solution along with extensive spreadsheets and paper forms. The Uni-Pac site was taken live in only seven days.
Uni-Pac performs a number of services including co-packing, shrink wrapping, and paper packaging out of their fully-owned, FDA-compliant, 100,000 square foot facility in Allegan, Michigan. The contract packager is currently introducing an additional 120,000 square feet of climate-controlled space.
